The Kitchen is gearing-up for our first wave of DVD projects. In tandem withour sister company Kitchen Media - which will be handling all of the graphics, menu, and interactive programming - we will be able to master DVD-A, DVD-V, and SACD . We are particularly excited about what these new formats offer the end-consumer in both the quality of sound and the visually enhanced, totally engaging multi-channel listening experience.

We are also excited to announce that we will be offering (for a limited time) free rentals of converters and recorders to those who book 'high-res' & surround mastering sessions. Please call the studio for all the details.

It's been an international whirlwind of projects this fall. We mastered an Iranian pop project, an Italian singer-songwriter CD, two Spanish pop releases, an Afro-Pop CD from Cameroon, and a Puerto Rican Heavy-Metal compilation.

Recently completed domestic projects included the latest from Eyes Adrift (a supergroup featuring members of the Meat Puppets, Nirvana, and Sublime), Virginia Coalition (mixed by Joe Zook and produced by Ted Comerford), a fantastic debut CD from Taylor Roberts (produced by Athenaeum's Alex McKinney & mixed by John Plymale), Mike Garrigan's (of Collapsis) latest solo effort, Athenaeum, Hobart Willis and the Back Forty, Spencer -Acuff (produced by Mark Williams), Caitlin Cary & Ryan Adams (produced by Chris Stamey), New York's Milton (on Moon Caravan) and retro-popster George Usher (mixed by the fabulous Mitch Easter.)

We have also seen an increase in Hip-Hop and R&B as of late such as the buzz-worthy "Testimony" from Kaize (mixed by Ray Winters) and the latest from Atlanta's The Hittaz.

Travis just finished mastering two bluegrass projects for Ohio - based Legend Records one of which is an amazing CD by Clay Hess (guitarist for Ricky Skaggs.) Simply put, there is some jaw-dropping guitar work on this acoustic juggernaut.

A special congratulations to Steven Vitello who received a generous grant from the New Museum (in NYC) for his musical sound-scape of the World Trade Center that we mastered last year.

Coming up this winter we are looking forward to mastering projects by Jim Mathus's Knockdown Society, Caitlin Cary, Cracker, and Juniper Lane, as well as surround tracks by Rosebud, Eyes Adrift, Claire Holley, Tony Williamson and Danielle Howle.
