Brent Lambert![]() BRENT LAMBERTBrent is the founder and chief mastering engineer at the Kitchen. At an early age Brent decided that music engineering was his passion. Growing up in Miami, Brent was exposed to a diverse musical climate and developed a fondness for many genres. Studying music as a child, and continuing at the pioneering University of Miami School of Music, Brent received an education in both applied music and music engineering. After leaving the University of Miami, Brent earned a degree in Economics and Business Management from North Carolina State University. During his time at NCSU Brent became remained active as a guitarist. After graduation Brent worked as a solo jazz guitarist and in various duos and trios throughout the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill area. Eventually, Brent migrated to sideman for various singer-songwriter, popular music, and jazz fusion groups. Performing with bands and artists Chris Stamey, Mitch Easter, Syd Straw, The Gladhands, The Swamis, Elephant Talk, Felix Cadillac, Wild Blue, The Lee Venters Group, Even Steven, and Knockin' Boots. While performing on many recordings for various artists, Brent renewed his interest in engineering and began assisting at a local studio. During this period, Brent's wife, Kirsten, was production manager at a regional radio station. She noticed that many of the station's clients desired a higher level of production than that was being offered by the station. Shortly thereafter, both Brent and Kirsten founded B&K Productions. Within a short period of time Brent was producing, engineering and mastering radio commercials and industrial productions for national clients such as Jiffy Lube, SAS, Quintex Cellular, Time Warner Audio Books, & Satellites Direct. During this period B&K Productions became known not only for its high quality production but its strong 'on-air' sound. Many local artists and producers began requesting mastering services from B&K . Eventually, this led to the founding of The Kitchen Mastering, Inc. A decade later, Brent and The Kitchen Mastering have built a reputation as a major mastering house in the Southeastern United States. Kevin HeringKEVIN HERINGKevin comes from a diverse background in audio engineering, web and computer technology and music performance. Combining his skills as a musician and engineer as well as his experience in the IT industry and management, Kevin works to maintain and enhance the Kitchen's reputation for high quality, strong customer service & technical innovation. From network and web design to graphic design, audio forensics techniques to audio distribution models, Kevin has his hands in almost everything that happens at the Kitchen. As of late, Kevin has been exploring new horizons including audio/video system design and calibration, web architecture and design, and interface design. He has also been involved with the genesis of SpaceForGood, a non-profit committed to providing other non-profits a voice through media.
